Prom and After Prom

Prom is quickly approaching. The evening is planned for Saturday, April 21 at the Sherman Events Center in Denver. This year’s theme is 007.

An After-Prom open house will be held at RCHS from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on April 21. This is an opportunity for parents and the community to see the After-Prom decor and the safe and fun events planned for the evening. The After-Prom theme is a surprise for the students!

Spring Play

“Arsenic and Old Lace” by Joseph Kesselring will be held on May 10, 11 and 12. Check with the school for ticket sales information and specific show times.

Student and Staff Awards

Congratulations to the Rock Canyon Girls Swim Team for receiving the 4A State Runner-up position. Chelsea Long, Meghan Long, Mattie Nobles, Londyn Clawson, Kirsten Milberg, Taylor Curado and Tia Toturaj represented RCHS during the state event.

The 4A Sweepstakes trophy and first place in General Excellence at the 2006 State Journalism Conference for Volume 2 of the school newspaper, The Rock, was awarded to RCHS students.

Nate Cook, Natasha Gingles, Kathleen Locke, Brielle Smith and Susie Typher received first place in In-Depth Centerspread with a piece on tobacco; Louisa Tur took first place in Editorial; Susie Typher received first place in Single Page Layout and first place in Opinion Column; Max Rowe was awarded first place in Feature Photo; Jennifer Prusse, Jenna Scheirman, Megan McNally and Kate Jones took second place in In-Depth Coverage; David Nicol received second place in Sports Photo; Chris Williams took third place in Editorial Cartoon.

Congratulations Apple Award Nominee

Suzanne Lustie, a veteran teacher with DCSD for 19 years and English teacher at Rock Canyon High School in Highlands Ranch was recognized as an Apple Award Nominee. Congratulations!

  • Senior Banquet - May 18 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

  • Senior Awards Night – May 21 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

  • Senior Graduation – May 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Shea Stadium
