Please bring the whole family out and enjoy an afternoon of eating ice cream and meeting your neighbors. NEW HOA1 WEB SITE - The new web site is up and running. It can be accessed at http://www.cpnhoa.org/hoa1. We are still working on adding content to the site but most of the information that is important to you can be found here. We will post occasional newsworthy events here so please bookmark this and refer to it often.

LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE - We couldn't be happier with the improvements that our new landscape contractor, Tru-Green Landscape has done for us. They have fixed much of our irrigation system and have hopefully reduced the excessive watering that has occurred in the past. We still have some zones that need help and will be correcting those in the coming weeks.

TREE TRIMMING - You may have noticed the huge Tru-Green Arbor maintenance truck along Yorkshire the past few days. We have dedicated a large portion of our budget this year to improving our landscape. First step is protecting and maintaining our largest and most important assets, trees.

We have over two dozen species of trees on our property and many have not been maintained since they were originally installed by Writer over 15 years ago. Along with pruning the trees we will also be spraying for pests such as the IPS beetle, which can destroy a healthy tree in just a few weeks. We have already lost a couple of healthy trees to this beetle and want to prevent anymore from dying.

OPEN SPACE RESTORATION PRESENTATION - Ray Sperger of Ark Ecological Services will be presenting to our HOA the importance of our native area maintenance program. Our success has been looked to as the model of how other CPN Associations should maintain their native areas. The discussion is open to all HOA1 members, but will be particularly insightful to those homes that border open space. A date has not yet been decided but we will announce the time in a future email.

NEIGHBORHOOD TRASH BIN - The condition of the area around the bins was just awful. The bins were overflowing with trash and much of it was simply strewn about the parking lot. We have several homes that have to wake up each morning looking at this site and it's not very appealing. We had to divert additional funds to have it cleaned up. Because of the way in which the area was left, we will not be having the bins available over the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. The last day for the trash bin will be this Friday. The Board will need to evaluate whether or not to make this service available to residents in the future. Please contact me with your thoughts.
