Terri
Peterson Qualifications: "Recently I retired after 30 years in the Residential Mortgage Industry and 15 years in the Insurance multiple-lines Industry. I held various positions, including Vice President and Director of Regional Operations, for several large Corporations, including the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, commonly known as Freddie Mac, and various other national mortgage companies. My experience gives me a good understanding of managing planned communities, and dealing with builders, planners, county personnel, special districts, homeowners associations, etc. Having been active in the communities where I have lived, I've held various positions on four separate HOA Boards, serving as President on two of them. Why do I want to serve as a member of the Board of Directors? We recently moved to Castle Pines North, and I am volunteering to serve as a member of the Metro Board because I believe I can help make this great community even better. Currently retired I feel I can contribute the time necessary to serve. My professional background and previous affiliations with other Boards provide the expertise necessary to adequately understand and serve on the Metro District's Board of Directors. What do I want to bring to the Board and what do I want to accomplish? Foremost, I am unbiased and will keep an open mind when faced with the many political matters, items and agendas that Board Members must handle and address on a regular basis. We face many new issues that need to be addressed as a result of the changes occurring in our community. A Board Member must always act in the best interest and for the good of the entire community within the District, working for the people, putting all personal ideas and motivation completely aside. I am running for a Board Member to share my knowledge, expertise, and leadership skills, acting on behalf and in the best interest of all members within the District. |
John
D. Ewing, P.E. Resident of Castle Pines North since March of 1988. Education:
B.S. Bacteriology and Public Health, Washington State University, 1975 Employment: 10 Years as a Consulting Civil-Environmental Engineer; Involved in planning, design, financing, construction, startup and troubleshooting numerous municipal and industrial water and wastewater systems. 11 Years as Director of Environmental Operations, Leprino Foods Company. Responsible for all water, wastewater, air and hazardous materials programs and systems at 7 major cheese-manufacturing operations from California to New York. 4 Years to present as Sr. Vice President, Reclamation Consulting and Applications, Inc. Operate nationwide in evaluation and implementation of innovative physical, chemical and biological waste management solutions in food production and related industries. Current and recent clients include Seneca Foods (Green Giant brands), Slim Fast Foods, Dairy Farmers of America, West Farm Foods, Leprino Foods, Synagro, and Inland Empire Utilities of Riverside, CA. Why I have served and wish to continue serving on the CPN Metro Board of Directors: First, I became involved in CPN Metro shortly after arriving in the Writer development and learning of the impending financial crisis facing the District. Those residents who are still here and weathered that time may remember me as President of the Board through most of the Bankruptcy process. That was definitely one of the most traumatic experiences of my and most of this neighborhoods life. Through countless hours of volunteered time by myself, the board and numerous other concerned residents, the restructuring was accomplished and CPN Metro is now in exceptionally good financial health considering the black cloud that hung over this entire neighborhood for so long. Through continued strong management of a very tough situation, CPN Metro is becoming the neighborhood we all moved here for. I am proud to have been a part of the solution and the recovery. I now want to stay involved and help complete the process, which could be nearly finished in the next 3-5 years. I feel strongly that my expertise is valuable as is the continuity of knowledge relative to current issues such as parks, open space and potential recreation centers as well as past infrastructure projects and issues. Second and foremost, serving on the board is the best and most effective avenue for me to contribute to CPN and CPN Metro. Coincidentally, I enjoy being involved in municipal services that relate to my background and expertise. As CPN Metro has grown over the past 14 years, we have had numerous projects for which I feel I have had valuable input. These have ranged from the water systems we have in place to the wastewater handling and treatment systems that are growing. I have had the opportunity to serve on both the CPN Metro Board and am the CPN Metro representative to the Plum Creek Wastewater Authority (PCWA). PCWA is currently completing the design phase and proceeding to bidding and construction of a $25 Million +/- expansion for which I have been intimately involved relative to planning, financing and design. I have provided rate development methods and models to PCWA from my past that has allowed staff to complete a substantial amount of work related to the financial plan without relying on consultants. In addition, we will be faced with numerous issues during the course of construction over the next 3 years that will benefit from both my expertise and history of knowledge. For the above fundamental reasons, I hope you will see your way to voting for me and allowing me to continue providing positive and meaningful contributions to all of Castle Pines North for the next 4 years." |

George Lorenzen "I recently retired from the U. S. General Accounting Office where I gained 30 years of financial and management experience by investigating federally funded programs and suggesting improvements to the U.S. Congress. I was a commissioned Air Force officer for more than 5 years and I have MBA and BA degrees from the University of Hawaii and Midland College and post graduate accounting education at the University of Colorado. I also have two years financial management training and experience with a major U.S. company. My wife, Jan, and I moved to Noble Ridge from Arvada a little over a year ago. I grew up in Nebraska and Jan in Kansas. We have 4 grown children who all live in the Denver area. We enjoy spending time with our children, friendships with our new neighbors, traveling, and church activities. I have available time and excellent health, and I am seeking an opportunity to apply my time and experience to maintaining the quality of our lives in this community. My current interest is to insure a clean and ample water supply, to maintain the appearance of our community, and to examine, and if possible, contain or reduce the sizable debt and resultant high property taxes here."

Francis V. ("Frank") Cristiano "I am an attorney and incumbent director and vice-president of the Board. I am a long time resident (since January 1990) of the District. I live in Royal Hill. I graduated from the University of Colorado School of Arts and Sciences in 1972, and the University of Denver, College of Law in 1976. I have been a practicing attorney since 1976. I emphasize general litigation and trials. I am the only attorney on the Board or among its candidates. I am 51 years old. I am the single father of two terrific children, Brian, age 16 and Kelsey, age 13. Their mother and grandparents are also residents of the District. We maintain a close and cooperative relationship. I am an avid golfer and love The Ridge golf course. I walked the course layout with Tom Watkins. In 1992 I became extremely concerned about the District's insolvency and bankruptcy and ran for the Board, walking most of the District and meeting most of its residents in the process. I was extensively involved in the difficult workout of the District from bankruptcy and it's ultimate ability to develop itself, and pay its debt. I'm particularly gratified by the fact that the District has been able to last year reduce its debt by $7,000,000, and its debt service mill levy by 16 mills. We have also managed to reduce the interest rate on the district's debt from 8.55% to its present rate of approximately 2.87%. The District is now a vibrant, ongoing enterprise, which is a long way from how I found it in 1992. The vastly increased size of the District raises many new challenges and opportunities. The District has recently completed the transition of having a contract manager and assistant, to a full time employee manager of more than 20 years experience, Judy Dahl, and numerous employees who report to her. Hiring Judy and her staff has put us on track to increase responsiveness and make sure that our water and sewer system has the capacity to serve our community. Customer service, I believe should be a top priority for the Board. I am in favor of continued, but well planned development. I favor the development of the planned recreation center, as well as the development of its parks and open space. We need our Board members to be experienced in running a metropolitan district and I believe that it is important to have an attorney on the Board." |
Galen Crowder Dr. Galen Crowder, a retired school administrator, has been a Colorado resident for the past 35 years. Since his retirement, he has remained involved in education by serving as an interim administrator in the Douglas County schools. Always active in professional and community associations, Galen currently serves on the Board of Directors of HOA#1. As a Castle Pines North resident for the past 5 years, Galen has become aware of some of the problems that face our community and would welcome the opportunity to be a part of the solution. First and foremost, Galen believes that we must make certain that residents of the CPN Metro District have an adequate and safe water supply for the present and future. The responsibilities of the CPN Board of Directors must include provisions for the pumping, storage, treatment, and distribution of water for our community. Providing for waste water and sewage treatment is another major responsibility. Because our water comes from aquifers, we must have a comprehensive water conservation policy in place that is known by all residents and which can be implemented in a short period of time should the need arise. The Board is also charged with providing recreational facilities. The proposed recreation center is an example of the lack of communication to our community. The community needs to be fully informed about the debt responsibility and operational costs of a recreation center. Although the debt was recently reduced because of increased development and water taps, the debt that we have is still substantial, and a more aggressive long-term plan must be adopted by the Board. In order to bring about the above, the Board must communicate more effectively with the residents of Castle Pines North. Only then can we work to make our community the finest in our area.
