On Sunday, May 21st swimmers, bikers, and runners will take their mark in the first annual Castle Rock annual youth sanctioned USA Triathlon.
The registration fee is $30 per person and includes a T-shirt, goodie bag and food on the day of the race. From the total entrance fee, $10 will go the school physical education program of the participant. The remaining $20 will benefit youth athletics in Castle Rock.
All students in the Douglas County School District are eligible to compete. The school with the most participants at the triathlon will receive a party for the participating athletes hosted by the Castle Rock Recreation Department at the new leisure pool. In addition, the winning school will have the honor of displaying the traveling trophy in their school until the next triathlon.
Students age five up to 14 years old are encouraged to register for the race.
