The Lagae family ranch stretches from Castle Pines Parkway, south to Happy Canyon Road. The ranch can be segmented into three parcels. Two of which are zoned for commercial development and one, very large section, which is zoned agriculture. North of Castle Pines Parkway wedged between the Douglas County Montessori School and the Xcel power lines is one area zoned for commercial development. Currently, the Metro District is working to obtain this portion to include in plans for Castle View Park. A 10 acre section immediately south of Castle Pines Parkway is zoned for commercial development. This area falls behind the Royal Hill development and reaches to the fence line. The remaining 600 acres that comprise Lagae Ranch are currently zoned agriculture. In April 2005
this land was sold to Jack Vickers III, a residential developer. No development plans have been announced for this portion. An extensive County approval process would be required before any development could take place. Douglas County's master plan limits homes on this parcel to less than 300.
