Twice in one week, the Master Association's Movie in the Park, Shrek, was postponed due to - you guessed it - rain. The movie was originally scheduled for Saturday, August 26, but was postponed until Friday, September 1. Storms returned again on September 1 and caused the Master Association Event Planner, Carla Kenny, to once again postpone the show.
Ultimately, the movie was rescheduled to Sunday, September 3, and with beautiful weather, the movie played without a hitch. Over 200 fans, both young and young at heart, enjoyed the 2001 box office hit starring the vocal talents of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz.
Solid Life Christian Center was on hand selling hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, cotton candy, soda and coffee. Prior to the movie, kids enjoyed bouncy castles and playing at the park. The show began at about 8 p.m. and residents bundled up as temperatures dropped with the darkness.
