Castle Pines North has its own swim team that meets during the summer months. The team practices at local community pools and competes with other area teams. Meets are held both in CPN and other neighboring pools.
Under the management of Team Colorado, the team’s focus is strong swimming, teamwork and having fun. The team’s age is roughly age five through age fifteen, but anyone who can swim the length of the pool and is under eighteen years old is eligible to swim. The team’s three coaches, Stephanie Coray, Lauren Smith and Derek Shaw ensure that each swimmer has fun and the opportunity to compete.
The team’s inaugural season was the summer of 2003. The team has grown from barely 40 swimmers to over 100. Each summer there have been more meets scheduled and more strokes perfected.
