We were very delighted when Mark at Castle Pines Basement Co. stopped by to give us a bid on finishing our basement. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He educated us and gave us some great ideals and possibilities with what to do with the space. Once the work started, we were amazed at their attention to detail and the quality of there workmanship. The subcontractors were a joy and very pleasant to have in the house. The basement was cleaned daily and Mark kept us up to date every step of the way. Mark's vendors were also great to work with. Mark's bid included features other companies were going to charge for. Great experience with a great local company.

We obtained bids from three local companies after seeing positive reviews on all of them. The bids varied and we chose the highest one and were we glad we did. American Basement Company completed our new basement before the scheduled finish and the completed job is incredible. We learned quickly why ABC bid the highest as from the start they were over the top in professionalism. Our basement was individually designed and put into 3D for our modification. Plans were then created using this model with features added and taken away to fit our budget. They then commenced work within a day of signing the contract and went non stop for two months sometimes even working on the weekend. We were able to trust all there workers with our home while away working and they were tidy, cleaning up every day. Tom the job foreman was on top of every detail and always reachable. He was in contact daily with an updated progress report and schedule. The finished product is impecable and really outshines the original work on our home. However, it fits in so well there is no way to tell is an addtion. This company is easy and pleasant to work with and is local. Our family strongly recommends calling Scott Stevens, a local resdident, and making an appointment to discuss any basement additions. It was worth the highest bid as we received the highest quality product in return!

We purchased our home a couple of years ago which already had a finished basement. We weren't crazy about the layout and some of the construction in the basement. Unfortunately,we had a sprinkler pipe break near the foundation and the water had gotten into the basement. Insurance took care of the clean up, but we thought this may be a great time to change the layout of the basement. We contacted Mark at Castle Pines Basement Co. to see if he would consider taking on a project like this, so glad he said yes. He had great ideals which required some major demolition.The new planned layout was awesome, it made much more since. Mark's crews were very professional, courteous, and polite to be around. Even the vendors that Mark works with were wonderful. Picking out carpet, tile, and cabinets was effortless. We really do enjoy our new space and the kids have a great place to hang out.

We had a generally good experience with Castle Pines Basement Company. Mark did a great job desigining our space, which wasn't that big. He was able to make the area functional, and convenient. Great play space and guest room. Mark adapted well to our changes as we went through the process, and changed our minds about what we wanted. He was quick to recognize when something wasn't done right, and responded to get it fixed.
Our only criticism is that at times, several days would go by without an update on why no work was being done that day or that week. Seemed like the project could have gotten done quicker than it did.

The service was top notch, including one stop shopping for all of you basement needs including tile, carpet, paint, fixtures, etc. Their help and assistance to create a complete design was invaluable and the result was a high quality beautuful basement that truly improved our home. Could't wait to move into Castle Pines into our perfect house. We needed to get the basement finished and really wanted to hire a local company. We did alot of research and calling around for referrals and hired Castle Pines Basement Co. So glad we did. Mark and his crews were outstanding to work with and had such a finesse about them, we couldn't be happier. The basement is such a fun place, we hardly make it back to the main level. We highly recommend Scott Stephens and the American Basement Company. After talking with numerous other contractors we loved ABC's approach and had Scott draw up a design for our basement. The program they have allows you to see how your finished basement will look in 3D from any view or angle. Trying to visualize what the completed project will look like from 2 dimensional drawings can be quite difficult. We were able to then make a few tweaks to the design with Scott in his office and see the changes immediately on the big screen TV.
American Basement Company has their own showroom where you go to pick out all of your carpet, paint, granite, cabinets, tile, etc. from a huge selection of quality materials. This was very convenient and made choosing color schemes much easier. No running all over town trying to put things together. This isn't your average contractor. These guys really know how to turn your basement into the place you will spend the majority of your time. They also have vendors that can make your dream wine room, home theater, steam shower, etc. Live a little right?
Communication was excellent throughout the project. There were weekly phone and e-mail updates as far as what work was going to be completed that week and when milestones would be reached. Our project manager was in constant contact with us. No wondering what was going on. This was an extremely important aspect of it for us. We didn't want to be left hanging and ABC didn't let us down. Our project was completed on time and at the quoted price.
We were also very pleased with all of the subcontractors that ABC uses. Courteous, timely, and professional with excellent quality work throughout. Daily cleanup and trash removal made for a safe and clean project.

We hired Scott Stephens of American Basement Company to finish our basement. He sat down with us, listened to our requirements and then prepared a design (3-D rendering)which exceeded our requirements. The design fits our current as well as future needs.
While constructing the basement, our main floor was kept clean and useable during the construction phase. He provided excellent responses to our questions and modifications.
Everyone who has seen our finished basement says the workmanship and design are outstanding. The project was on budget and on time.
Before making a decision to hire another contractor, meet with American Basement Company. You will be pleased with their professionalism and quality of work at reasonable prices.

American Basement Company ROCKS!!!! Scott Stephens and his team helped us create the basement of our dreams and utilized every inch of space so our basement looked architecturally cool but fully functional for our family. They came with unique ideas and a professional team. We shopped around on price, but when it came down to it, American Basement Company included high quality standards in our basement bid, not as costs that I did not anticipate and would have to pay for separately like carpet, tile, nice door hardware or nice plumbing hardware etc.
We AUTOMATICALLY got "high-end" standard components such as crown molding, antique bronze hardware on Delta faucets, double-stepped soffits and rope lighting -- plus we have wrapped window casings as a standard rather than the usual drywall. I even chose quality carpet as a basic that was better than the one I chose through Village Homes (it would have been considered an upgrade by Village). And this was in my basic cost -- not additional costs that came up later! It's those touches that make a complete difference in the beauty of my basement without eating up my budget after the fact.
I saved so much TIME by using their "one-stop-shop" showroom to pick my tile, carpet, cabinets, etc.... I did not have to go looking for the things I loved all over town -- they had them all in their showroom. Plus, they are a Merrillat distributor and that let us put top rate cabinets at a price we could swallow. They have such excellent relationships with their distributors, that I was also able to add nice custom touches like granite and a home theatre at an affordable price.
The vendors they used were friendly and helpful and they cleaned up debris on the spot, rather than putting a dumpster on my driveway. We had Mark refinish our finished basement. Before it made no sense and now it is a great open area for entertaining complete with wet bar.
He had great ideas and worked with me to complete my vision. When that meant changing my mind a few times and adding almost double the work, he was very patient and accommodating.

We chose Castle Pines Basement without even looking anywhere else. Mark lives in the community and has many outstanding reviews from people in our community. Because of his integrity we knew from the start that we could trust him with our money, to get the job done right and on time, and to have access to our home. The job was done in the time specified and the work moved along quickly and efficiently. The best thing is that our basement was always swept and cleaned up before the contractors left for the day. Mark was frequently on hand and easy to get ahold of.
We were concerned how our basement would turn out since it is a partial basement, completely underground, with low ceilings otherwise known as "the dungeon". Mark's design exceeded what we visualized at the initial stage. Mark conveyed the importance of carrying the look of the upstairs into the downstairs so that the finished basement looks consistent with the rest of the house. We have already entertained a number of times. Our basement is now a warm, casual, and comfortable place where our guests feel at home and welcome.
We miss having Mark around. He was like a part of the family since he was part of our daily routine for months. You couldn't ask for a friedlier guy to be around every day. Thanks Mark!

We especially love that we were able to incorporate all of our wants/needs into the space! (We now have a guest room, full bath, and an entertainment area with a wine closet, bar and plasma screen wall!) Mark and his crew performed their job with professionalism, courtesy and meticulous attention to detail. We really appreciated the availability, flexibility and receptiveness to our many requests during construction. We spent several weeks interviewing potential basement builders, and after much research, it was an easy decision to go with the experience, quality and value of ABC. The work done was of the very highest quality, and they listened to our needs all along the way. They did not leave before they were certain we were completely overjoyed. We were recently finishing our basement and I decided to use Douglas Lumber because they are based out of Castle Rock and wanted to use a local business. When I originally used them I was satisfied. The second time, I called in to explain the doors I had oredered were the wrong size. The owner, Larry, would not let me speak and only continued to interupt me. After I faxed him my notes that were correct, he told me I had faxed in a different not sheet. Clearly he needed yet another excuse to justify his mistake. He kept explaining that he had "done this (sold lumber)" for years and that he didn't make these kinds of mistakes. I asked how he got one door correct if this was totally my fault, and he said "because that's the measurement you gave me." So, I am still unclear how I could give him one correct measurement and three wrong after he told me I got him the correct measurements. He said he was not going to argue, I told him if he could not have an adult conversation that he could not blame me either. His exact words were, "I am going to blame you." I would recommmend not using this company if you expect any kind of appropriate customer service.

Castle Pines Basement Company finished about 1/3 of our basement into a media center. Everything from planning to finish was done with excellence!
The experieince that Mark Gibbons brings is incredible as he is able to envision the room from the input of the customer and offer construction and design viewpoints to make them happen.
All the work was done exactly on schedule and the workplace was kept clean and debris free at the end of every day.
Mark's meticulous attention to detail, schedule adherence, and finish carpentry are second to none.
I highly recommend and endorse Castle Pines Basement Company and Mark Gibbons as the provider of choice for anyone wanting to have a great experience and fantastic result for finsihed basements!

We hired Scott Stephens and American Basement Company to finish our walk out basement and the completed product is outstanding! We had an aggressive timeline and they finished the basement on time. We met with Scott the first week of September and hosted Thanksgiving in our new 1,300 sq. ft. basement! It is rare to find a business owner like Scott that takes so much pride in his work and genuinely cares about making sure his clients are not just happy, but rave about his work. He is very professional and stands 100% behind his product. His design process is outstanding, with a 3-D rendering of what your basement will look like upon completion along with detailed blueprints. We solicited multiple companies over the phone, and has serious discussions with several plus doing it ourselves. George met with us, agreed to do things our way, and how we like. He gave a good price, and kept the price unless we added anything. Quality is excellent. Fininshed ahead of time. Quality people, good follow-up and no problems with any of his work. Basement included bath and plumbing.

I was so sad when I saw all the nice reviews for American Basement--sad that we didn't use them. We used Superior Basement Finish and it was our worst nightmare come to life! Chris Powell the owner, makes promise after promise, none of which he is able to keep. He is dishonest, discourteous and his subcontractors caused us nothing but trouble! The finished(?) product looks nice, but was not worth what we went through to get there. Save the hassle and hire someone who can be trusted.

We just finished our basement with Basements R Us and are extremely happy. They are professional, reliable and committed to ensuring you are happy with the results. One item that impressed us right away was that they gave us a timeline calendar so we knew what work would be done every day. It was great to watch the progress and track it knowing that they were exactly on schedule. This was OUR first time for this type of a project and they were patient with my many questions along they way. Excellent workmanship, attention to detail, personal attention, clear communication about the process...in other words, an excellent company with quality staff and sub-contractors.
Our experience with Superior Basement Finish was fabulous from start to finish. From helping us think through the plans and best possibles uses for our space to executing those plans exactly as we'd hoped, Chris Powell and his employees took great care of us and our home. They were also extremely sensitive to the impact of the construction on our neighbors and our yard--taking care to keep everything as neat and tidy as possible.
We trusted their opinions and recommendations completely because of the experience and long-time relationships between Chris and his sub-contractors. They were knowledgeable and professional regarding every aspect of the permitting, construction and inspection process.
Having strangers in your home can sometimes be disconcerting, but we were extremely comfortable with everyone that showed up on our job. We trusted each and every one of them completely, and that is an important consideration when your family and your home are involved.

"It took me 6 years to talk my husband into finishing our basement. When it was time to interview and get bids from contractors, I got nervous, because you only have one chance to get it right. Like most people we network with friends for recommendations which is how we found Scott Stevens, owner of American Basement Co.
Scott's initial meeting yielded a blueprint of the ideas and desires discussed before we paid a cent or signed a contract. I was instantly impressed with his forethought in how the space would be used and how the 1100 sqft would function. My decision was made to go with American Basement Company when Scott emphasized that he strives to make the basement look like part of the house, not a basement. The supports, beams, duct work etc., are all concealed within the walls and ceiling so that it does not look like a basement covered with drywall. Scott has the aesthetic ability and eye for design that make his work far superior in this industry. This was confirmed by the praise that his subcontractors gave to us all along the way. They all said that his work is superior to most of the basement companies that they have ever been associated with.
Bottom line... we hire someone to do a job that we cannot. We put our faith in that person to do right by us. What a pleasure to know that we were not taken advantage of in any respect and that we got quality craftsmanship every step of the way.

"Theresa and I were contemplating for a long time on who to contract with to finish our basement. We had over 2,000 square feet of space and wanted to hire someone not only who was experienced and reliable, but a company that would accent the basement to complement the entire upstairs.
