Residents can expect to see two construction projects in the CPN power line corridor this fall.  Xcel’s power lines upgrades are underway.  Also, the CPN Metro District will begin a water main construction project, which runs along a portion of the power line corridor.

Xcel is currently working to replace and upgrade existing power poles in our community.  The CPN Metro District has been working with Xcel Energy to provide entry to the power line corridor on existing access roads.  Without access to the District’s roads, Xcel would have created new roads that would have unnecessarily disturbed native vegetation.

Construction of Xcel’s new power line project is expected to be completed by April 1, 2005.

The Metro District’s water main project is scheduled to begin in November.  The 3,750-foot pipeline will connect the directional water well to the existing water pipeline system and is expected to be completed by December 31.
