Registered Sex Offender Information Available |
||||||||||
Information on the site provides specifics on offenders living in Douglas County, including Lone Tree, Parker, and Larkspur. Castle Rock’s offenders will also be included in the near future. Information on registered sex offenders living in other Colorado counties resides on their respective county’s web site. In addition, a statewide list is available at the Colorado Bureau of Investigation website. What’s on the list? The web site listings include the name, address, date of birth, aliases, a photograph, and general information related to the offender’s conviction. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation website list contains high-risk offenders. A law recently passed by the Colorado Legislature now allows cities and counties to publish a website list of certain additional categories of offenders. If a registered sex offender does not qualify by State statute to be placed on a website list, their information is still available on the local law enforcement agency’s Registered Sex Offender Registry. For a complete list of registered sex offenders in Douglas County, visit the Sheriff’s office at the Justice Center, 4000 Justice Way in Castle Rock. Visit the Sheriff’s web site for more information about obtaining the complete list. So what should people do with information from registered sex offender lists? Detailed advice is available from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation
