The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) has developed a new 911 education program geared toward Kindergarten through 2nd grade students. The program teaches children what to do and what to say when placing a 911 emergency call. It also teaches the importance of knowing their home address and phone number.

The program is designed around a furry 911 Superhero named “Red E. Fox.” Red E. Fox likes to have fun and learn at the same time while working with DCSO dispatchers to interactively teach kids important safety information.

For more information about the 911 for Kids program or to schedule a class, contact Cherie Abbott with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office at 303-814-7005 ext 5415, or email cabbott@dcsheriff.net. This program is offered to all elementary schools in Douglas County
as well as daycares and safety fairs.
