Three New Metro Board Members Elected
by Lisa Crockett

On Tuesday, May 6, three new members were elected to the Metro District Board of Directors. Only 319 of more than 5,000 registered CPN voters took time to stop by the polling place and cast their vote in this important election.

Mark Carlson, Bill Santos, and Andy Rhodes have been elected to the Metro District board and will each serve four-year terms. Below, they outline their goals for the Metro District in the years to come:

Andy Rhodes

“I plan to dedicate myself to making decisions that are in the best interest of the residents. With careful and diligent planning and evaluation we will be able to secure renewable water, maintain our open space and parks, and ensure that our community remains one of the most desirable in Colorado. My main goal is solid communication with the residents and the new city as we move forward.” -Andy Rhodes

Mark Carlson

“I sincerely appreciate the support I received from the community throughout this election. I have three personal goals as a board member for the Metro District. First, to make sure we are moving forward, in a fiscally responsible manner, in obtaining the renewable water that is necessary for our community. Second, to foster an open relationship with the City that will help insure both entities operate in the most efficient manner. Finally, to make sure we don’t lose sight of our responsibility for parks and open space.” -Mark Carlson

Bill Santos

“Truly, we are at a critical point in the history of the City of Castle Pines North. As a Metro District board member, I intend to focus on those priorities that are most critical to our common future, including: ensuring access to a renewable water supply; working collaboratively with the new city organization to save taxpayer money; continuing to improve communications and accountability to CPN residents; supporting the expansion of the City in a way that maximizes value to CPN residents.” -Bill Santos
