County’s Slash and Mulch Now Open
by Lane Roberts

Looking for a place to take dead trees and scrub oak?

Douglas County’s slash and mulch program opened May 31. The annual program is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. until September 30, at the Castle Rock Water Treatment Plant, 1400 Caprice Drive in Castle Rock.

Residents can drop off tree branches and shrubbery with a maximum length of six feet and a maximum diameter of 12 inches. All loads must be covered and tied. Stumps, roots, lumber, weeds, and household trash are not accepted.

The program is part of the County’s wildfire mitigation and recycling efforts. Inclement weather can close the slash and mulch. For more information, please call 303-663-6274.
