HOA Services
The Forest Park homeowners
association owns and maintains common areas and open space within and around
the neighborhood, including wildlife corridors. Forest Park HOA dues are
also used to provide a pool for the use and enjoyment of Forest Park Residents.
Dues are also used to maintain the private streets within Forest Park,
including snow removal on those streets.
For more information about a specific HOA service please select a Forest Park HOA service or contact our Management Company.
Invasive/noxious/obnoxious
weeds are continuing to pop up
in the community. There are many properties that have knapweed, leafy spurge and
thistle showing up in the native areas, (as well as other weeds) this is
occurring mostly in areas that border the street from the back of properties
where it is visible, properties that back to open space and areas that were
scraped/disturbed during the development of and building in Forest Park. Please
help the Forest Park community keep these weeds under control and eliminate
them quickly. If you are not sure what the weeds look like, (some of the weeds
like spurge actually look like wildflowers), please take a visit the Invasive
Species page http://www.invasivespeciesinfo.gov/plants/main.shtml to see
pictures of invasive weed species and for information on how to mitigate weeds.
The Retreat HOA has added a Noxious Weed
Information page, which may be helpful to homeowners looking for more
information.
ONLY Foot
Traffic/Walking/hiking, is CURRENTLY allowed in the Wildlife Corridors and on
HOA Property. Any activity that can cause wildlife to not use the wildlife
corridors is not allowed. Any activity that may harm the vegetation is not
allowed.
The Wildlife areas are
protected by the Forest Park HOA, Covenants, Master Declarations,
Rules/Regulations, and the original filings with Douglas County for the
development of Forest Park. Colorado Division of Wildlife designated the
locations of the Wildlife Corridors and the care of these areas to Forest Park
for the specific use by WILDLIFE to migrate in and out of Forest Park.
Our
landscaping contractor will continue to keep up with the weeds on HOA
properties. Most HOA areas are less weed infested as time goes on and the
management of the HOA areas continue. We will be allowing the native grasses on
HOA areas that are mostly native grass grow much taller this year to help with
the natural seeding from the grasses, we will not be mowing the native areas as
often, this includes HOA areas visible from Forest Park, Forest Trails, Forest
Ridge Circle, Castle Point Circle/Lane.
Native areas near Stop
Signs will continue to be mowed shorter. Generally only the native areas that
are seen from the major streets have been mowed in the past, except for any
weed infested areas in the interior spaces of Forest Park. The weeds in all HOA
areas will be "attacked" individually instead of mowing an entire
area and on an "as needed" basis. This will include areas visible
from Forest Park Drive, Forest Ridge Circle, Forest Trails Drive and Castle
Point Circle, Castle Point Lane.
When doing any clean up in
your yard/property, please dispose of the debris properly. Our open
spaces/wildlife corridors/native areas are not to be used for dumping of
homeowner debris.
The open spaces/wildlife
corridors/native areas are to be kept as a native and natural forested area.
Please do not move your yard debris/tree trimmings/cut grass/etc. to the HOA
areas.
All of the native
vegetation in Forest Park including on private homeowner property is not to be
cut, removed, harmed or removed. Only DEAD branches/trees may be removed from
native vegetation on homeowner property. Only dead branches along the HOA areas
of Forest Park Drive will be removed if necessary, HOA areas will remain un
pruned native/natural condition.
