In
keeping with the American way, I would take these demographics and
build a restaurant in the middle of an open field and place the tables
20 feet apart. I would be open all year, and would call my eatery,
Doggone Sooper Dining. |

Party Mode... what social events do you want?... (September
2002)
How many events help a community see itself communally? And what flavors?
Does your Party Hat point toward "Adults-style" gatherings or
does it favor "Family Affairs"? Help, please.

9-26 |
from
Canterbury Park: |
"Something
less young family oriented. I am a single adult over 50 years old. I had
my children 37 years ago. Want somethng now for adults." |

9-23 |
from
Kings Crossing: |
"I
think that a couple of family-oriented social events per year (maybe the
summer BBQ and a Christmas party) are sufficient. Any more than that and
I, for one, start to tune out. With all the other demands on our time and
resources, as well as the call for volunteers from every organization imaginable,
it's just too much of a good thing. I would rather see the money spent on
more trees and shrubs, park benches, upkeep, etc. for our neighborhoods." |

9-2 |
from
Royal Hill: |
"Social
events are fine if you are not using our association fees to fund them.
This is just another way the majority is being controlled by the minority.
The same thing you are trying to do with the rec center. KEEP YOUR HANDS
OUT OF MY WALLET!" |

Susan
from Claremont: |
"I
really enjoyed the spring community garage sale; people seemed very involved
in both holding a sale and in 'garage-saling'. I think it brings exposure
into our community." |
