News from The Retreat

The Retreat Board of Directors meets quarterly.  We welcome attendance from residents and would encourage anyone living in the Retreat to come to the meetings and meet your Board of Directors and hear about what is going on in your community.

The next Board meeting will be October 12, 2004, at 7:00 p.m. in the CPN Community Center on Yorkshire Drive.  All residents of The Retreat are welcome to attend the meetings.

Delegate to the Master Association Needed

We are seeking a resident of the Retreat to volunteer to be the Delegate to the Master Association for our community.  It doesn’t take a lot of time, but you would need to attend the Master Association’s monthly board meeting, and report back to our Board on what is happening with the Master Association.  There are many changes occurring in CPN, both residential and commercial,  and it’s important for our residents to stay informed.

Thanks to Cheryl McDade for volunteering in that position for years while she was a homeowner in the Retreat.  Carol Langley-Finnegan is currently serving in that capacity until the Board officially appoints a new Delegate.  Please call Carol at (303) 694-2228 if you have an interest or would like further information.

ACC Happenings

In response to numerous requests from homeowners of the Retreat, the Architectural Control Committee is putting together a list of roofing materials that the committee has approved for use in the Retreat.  Anyone interested in replacing their roof can contact Mike Johnston for a list of approved materials and colors.

Again, please remember that any work, or changes to the exterior of your home, yard, or landscaping MUST be submitted to the ACC Committee for approval PRIOR to making those changes.   Even if you are repainting your home the same color, the request MUST be submitted to the committee for approval prior to beginning work.

We must all work together to maintain our property values and keep the Retreat a great looking community.  A copy of the Retreat ACC Guidelines is available on the CPN web site, www.cpnhoa.org, or you may obtain a copy from Lynniel or Carol on the Board, or Mike Johnston, ACC Chairman.

If you see something in the community that needs to come to the attention of the ACC Committee, please let us know immediately so that the situation can be corrected in a timely manner.  The Committee is doing 3 walk-throughs of the community per year, but we need your eyes to help us stay on top of situations that need attention.  We appreciate your help and welcome any input from homeowners.

Street Resurfacing

The help of Retreat residents is needed!  Please call Carl Lucero at Douglas County (303) 660-7490 to encourage the County to put our streets on the list for repaving.   The County has a list of streets to repave in CPN and is allocating money for communities that need work.  We haven’t had our streets resurfaced in years and they are in dire need.  The more residents who call and ask to have our streets included in the list,  the better chance we have of having our streets resurfaced.

PLEASE – WE NEED YOUR HELP.  JUST CALL!!!  THANK YOU!
