Swing sets and play structures constitute an addition to the exterior of a home and need ACC approval. A Request for Approval Form must be submitted and approved before installing play equipment. Include specifications and size of the equipment and a picture if available. On a plot plan or diagram show where it is to be installed. The following guidelines have been developed and approved by the Architectural Control Committee (ACC):
The ACC encourages families to invest in structures that have a "wood look". For example, the playground equipment at the clubhouse, although made of composite material, has a "wood look". This does not mean that metal or plastic sets are not allowed. They are, but the ACC believes that wood appearing structures are more attractive and require less maintenance.
In placing the recreational equipment in the yard, homeowners need to be sensitive to the privacy needs of adjacent neighbors.
Download the Request for Approval Form, fill it out and fax it to us at 720-554-7753 or you can mail it to the ACC with your roughed out plan.
