SIT... STAY... WATCH...
AND PLEDGE YOUR SUPPORT FOR THE PLEDGES FOR PETS TELETHON!

Denver, CO (December 1, 2005) - How can you make a difference for thousands of homeless pets in our community? Tune in and pledge your support for the Dumb Friends League 8th annual Pledges for Pets Telethon, presented by Hill's Science Diet®, on Sunday, January 29, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on KTVD-TV/UPN20.

In addition to pledging in your support, sit back and take a virtual tour of the League's Quebec Street shelter, get some helpful hints on choosing a pet that's right for your family, and learn about dog and cat behavior, nutrition and much more. Dozens of adoptable dogs, cats and other small pets in need of new, loving homes will also be featured throughout the four-hour, live event.

"We're a private, non-profit organization that relies completely on the support of the community," says Dumb Friends League President, Robert Rohde. "By pledging your support during the Pledges for Pets Telethon, you can help us care for more than 28,000 homeless animals and provide programs and services that help thousands of pets and people, such as dog training classes, humane education and animal cruelty investigations."

The Pledges for Pets Telethon will be hosted by several local television celebrities including: Cheryl Preheim and Chris Vanderveen of 9News, Ernie Bjorkman of WB2 News, Katie Trexler and Mitch Jelnicker of 7News, Shaul Turner of FOX31 News, Tom Mustin of News4 and Luis Canela of Univision Colorado. In addition, several local radio personalities will also be hosts including: Murphy Huston and Jo Meyers of KOSI 101.1 FM, Archer and Mark Samansky of The Mountain 99.5 FM, Sky Walker of KEZW 1430 AM, and Slacker and Bo of Alice 105.9 FM.
