Buffalo Ridge Elementary School Receives Donation from Safeway:

A special "Thank You" to the new Castle Pines Safeway for their generous donation of $5,000 to Buffalo Ridge Elementary on December 6, 2001.

The donation will be used to install FM systems in the classrooms.

10/3: Progress continues on the shade structure (pavilion). See all the steps in this process!

When the corner posts and roof are in place, kids will be able to get out of the sun for a break!

Teachers will use this structure to hold outdoor classes and on field or special days, there will be a place for the kids to eat lunch out of the sun. (Thanks to Michal Rittler for the photo/update.)

Buffalo Ridge is a year-round school. It is on a 4 track system.

There are 4 different tracks with 4 different schedules.

Each track is in school for 9 weeks and off for 3 weeks. BUT every track is off a different 3 weeks - the schedule rotates through the tracks so 3 tracks are on at a time and 1 is off. What this does is allows the school to serve 1/4 more children than normal.

The tracks are lettered A, B, C and D. At any given , one track is off and the other three are in session.

Why are tracks so important?   What this page can be:   Who's Who at BRE

BRE is so STUFFED with kids that they had to add portables and a 5th track (named B2).

The 5th track follows B-track (the most popular because they most closely follow the middle and high school traditional schedules).

This is an attempt to include a vital part of our community on this web site - our kids' schools and their activities in greater depth.

How it grows, or indeed, if it grows is dependent on those of you in the community with children who can provide content and from any citizen of this community with something meaningful to say about Schools in general and BRE in specific.

Any chance for "School Reporters"?
Webmaster would like to have each grade have their own column. Webmaster will pony up the work to accomplish this if we can work it out with anyone willing.
