More
than 600 people gathered under blue skies to welcome Castle Pines
North's Coyote Ridge Park during the August 25th neighborhood party
and BBQ.
Welcoming
comments were made by Master Association vice president Jim Beimers,
President Linda Nuzum, and Douglas County Commissioner Melanie
Worley. So many people have worked tirelessly to turn the dream
of a neighborhood park for CPN into a reality. Ron Valiga
former President of the Master Association; Tom Anderson,
former Metro District Manager and President of the Parks Authority
Board; Chris Fellows, Developer of the Daniel's Gate area; Steve Elken, Developer of the Hidden Pointe neighborhood;
other members of the Parks Authority Board: Sandy Colling,
Castle Pines North Foundation; Ron Benson of Douglas County
Parks, Royann Cygan and Darwin Horan, and Joe Sewell
of D.R. Horton, were recognized during the Opening Ceremony.
A colorful
arch of balloons was then cut free and sent soaring into the bright
skies over CPN. Then, it was time to eat with the help of Bennett's
BBQ and Schwanns. Entertainment included a petting zoo, a haunted
house "moonwalk," country-western music, and a show by a group of
fancy pigs, the Top Hogs.
Some
took advantage of the new green field to drive golf balls and kick
around soccer balls. But the star of the show was probably the brand
new playground equipment, which was enjoyed by kids of all ages,
some of whom helped select the equipment during a meeting last spring.
Many
thanks to Carla Kenny and Karen Thompson, for their
hard work putting together a really fun evening for the residents
of Castle Pines North.
With
pavilions to provide shade, great amenities, and with plenty of
parking, Coyote Ridge Park is destined to become a vital area of
our neighborhood. See you at the park!

DIRECTIONS
TO THE PARK: To reach Coyote Ridge Park from the intersection
of Castle Pines Parkway and Monarch, go north on Monarch Boulevard
for 1.3 miles; turn right on Hidden Pointe Boulevard and take
the first left into the park area and parking lot.
