For the four months since it opened, residents of Castle Pines North have been frequenting Café de France, a French/Continental restaurant located in the Safeway shopping center (Castle Pines Market Place), that serves dishes suited for the American palate.
It’s no surprise that some customers eat at the Café three times per week, given the fact that everything is fresh: the soups, the entrees, the sauces, the baked goods, and even the cappuccino is ground fresh for every order.
“I’ve been in the restaurant business for 30 years,” says Barry Gilani, the restaurant’s owner. “It’s all about great, fresh food, customer service, and building relationships with customers.”
Gilani is originally from Leon, France but spent most of his life in Dallas. His family owns two Café de France restaurants in the Dallas area, the first of which opened in 1982.
When he came to Colorado ten years ago on a vacation, he liked it so much, he packed up and moved here. Once settled, he and his wife Donna opened a Café de France in Highlands Ranch.
The best part about Café de France is that the food is absolutely delicious and it’s moderately priced. For breakfast they offer egg dishes, pancakes, waffles, blintzes, crepes, omelets and egg sandwiches just to name a few.
For lunch they serve salads, soups, quiche, croissant sandwiches, and burgers served with homemade chips and French fries.
For dinner they have pastas, chicken, fish and steak entrees. And, of course, you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner anytime of day.
The restaurant is also very family-friendly. Gilani’s 7-year-old daughter Ashley loves to help greet people, take them to their table, and hand them their menus.
If you don’t already have plans for Valentine’s Day, consider taking advantage of Café de France’s special availble the whole month of February: Dinner for two including soup or salad, entree, dessert, one bottle of French wine - - all for $49.99 per couple! Call 303-308-1111 for reservations.
“People love to come here. They feel comfortable, it’s affordable, and they love the food. Seeing the “regulars” really makes my day!” exclaims Gilani.
