Celtic Crossing Restaurant
At the age of 12, Noel Coyne had already begun his career in the restaurant industry while working in his sister’s bed and breakfast in Clifden, Ireland. Now, many years later and a continent away, Noel is the proud owner of Celtic Crossing Irish Restaurant, Pub and Cigar Room, on Village Square Lane.
One of seven children, Noel spent his teenage years working in hotel restaurants during his school vacations. When he graduated from high school, he worked in hotels across Europe, including Switzerland, Germany and England. After many years in the business, he obtained his Hotel Management degree.
As a stay-at-home dad for seven years, Noel began to work on his dream of one day owning his own Irish Pub. And when his wife Kathleen’s job transferred the family from Washington D.C. to Colorado, Noel began his research to determine the perfect location for a future restaurant. After much deliberation, he decided on Castle Pines North’s Village Square.
Noel wanted to recreate the authentic atmosphere of an actual restaurant/pub in Ireland. Therefore, the restaurant is decorated with only 100 percent Irish artifacts, all of which are at least 100 years old (minus the tables and chairs). “Some items on display are 500 years old!” exclaims Noel. The door to the Cigar Room, for example, dates back to the 1800s, and the stained glass door in the Dining Room came from a mid-1600s Irish castle.
“We love to give tours of Celtic Crossing, so any visitor is welcome to ask us for a guided tour of the other artifacts we have, ” said Noel.
The restaurant’s menu offers everything from traditional Irish favorites to various seafood, chicken, steak and duck dishes. Vegetarian options are also available. The bar boasts a huge selection of Irish and Scotch whiskey as well as beers and wines. Specials are offered every night of the week and there is a wide selection for kids.
Events at the Celtic include trivia night on Thursdays, live music every Friday and Saturday, and occasional wine tastings with dinner (set menu) for approximately 60-75 people. The next one is in July and there is still space available. Anyone interested in partaking in this truly Irish experience should call the restaurant at 303-663-6644 to make reservations.
