Castle Pines Orthodontics

Dr. Andrew Dunbar, DDS, MS, and his wife, Jennifer, are residents of Castle Pines North, and they enjoy providing their one-doctor, one-office service to their friends and neighbors.

Castle Pines Orthodontics treats both adults and children, and Dr. Dunbar says that his orthodontic philosophy is on the conservative side.  “Let growth and development take care of any problem first,” he says.

Natives of Oklahoma, the Dunbars took a winding road to get to Castle Pines North.  After joining the U.S. Navy, Andrew attended the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry.

The Dunbars then moved to San Diego, where Andrew spent a residency in general practice at the Naval Hospital there.  From San Diego it was on to Okinawa, Japan, to serve the Fleet Marine Force.  That’s also where their first daughter, Sierra, was born.

The Dunbars returned to San Diego to practice general dentistry and orthodontics at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot.  Then there were three years at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. (That’s the hospital where U.S. Presidents are treated if need be). That’s also where daughter Jane was born.

Andrew selected the University of Louisville Orthodontics Program in Kentucky because, he says, “the two retired Army colonels who ran the program had a work hard/play hard philosophy.”

After receiving his Masters in Orthodontics in 2002, it was time for Dr. Dunbar to set up his practice, and Jennifer and Andrew did some research.  Having spent “every one of my vacations as a kid” in Colorado, Andrew knew he and his family wanted to move here.  An avid golfer, Andrew also knew about the PGA tournament in Castle Pines, and was pleased to learn that the area had a high number of growing families coupled with a small number of orthodontist offices.

Dr. Dunbar began to establish his practice while working in the dental office of Dr. Matthew Rolfson.  Then, in May 2003, he moved into his spacious new offices on Village Square Lane.

Castle Pines Orthodontics is very involved with the community.  One of Dr. Dunbar’s recent contributions was in support of the Buffalo Stampede.

Castle Pines Orthodontic’s office hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  If a patient has problems after hours, the number to call is Dr. Dunbar’s own cell number.  To schedule an appointment, call Castle Pines Orthodontics at 303-688-3837.
