The travel industry has changed immensely in the 17 years that Vagabond Travel has been in business. Not only has the Internet changed how people book business trips and vacations, but the events of September 11 also affected where, when, and how frequently people travel.
“There are very few travel agencies left that have store fronts,” says Cyndi Linne of Vagabond Travel.
“We’ve had to change our business quite a bit to keep up with what travelers want these days.”
In January of 2004, Vagabond Travel moved its operation from Boulder to Castle Pines North. There was no longer a huge demand for a full-service travel agency in Boulder, but there was a need in CPN. The move has proven to be successful, and Vagabond Travel is now busier than ever.
“After September 11, we did not know what to think. We had lots of cancellations to deal with, and we had no idea what would become of the industry,” says Linne.
However, Cyndi and her co-worker Paula Colyer, have used their travel-related expertise to build the clientele that visit CPN’s Vagabond Travel on a regular basis.
“I’ve personally been to many parts of Africa, Europe, Central America, and Mexico. And, we often go with tour companies to various destinations and we visit anywhere from 5 to 20 hotels so we know which ones to recommend to our customers,” says Linne.
Booking a vacation through a travel agency instead of via the Internet provides a whole different experience.
“Instead of looking at electronic pictures and booking a trip with the click of a mouse never really knowing what you’re going to get, with a travel agency, you get to talk with someone who can help you figure out what the perfect vacation will be for your and your family.”
“This is what we do for our profession! We are experienced, we’ve done our research, we attend seminars, we have up-to-date information, and we’ve gone through training on how to best serve our customers,” says Linne.
So, whether you want to plan a trip to Disney World, take a cruise with friends or family, go to Mexico for Spring Break, hike through the Amazon, or visit any other corner of the world, Vagabond Travel can help ensure that your trip is successful and fun.
