Share Your Pride in Our Troops

The CPN Connection welcomes news from residents whose family and friends are serving in the U.S. Military.

Captain James R. Sosnicky is serving in the Middle East as an Army Civil Affairs Officer, working on economic development issues. He is the son of Andy and Joan Sosnicky of the Claremont Estates subdivision, and is a 1989 Douglas County High School graduate.  After spending 10 months in Baghdad, Jim was assigned to the American Embassy in Amman, Jordan.  He now spends three-quarters of his time in Jordan and the rest in Iraq.   You may have seen his byline in the Castle Rock Daily Star, for which he writes a column called “Into Jordan.”  His July 23 column was a hopeful exploration of the potential for a relationship between Americans and Middle Easterners. He can be contacted at sosnicky@hotmail.com.

The Crane family of Claremont Estates have three—yes, three—military sons to keep track of!

Joshua, 24, is a Petty Officer, 2nd Class, on the USS John C. Stennis.

Matthew, 22, is a Lance Corporal with the Marines on his second tour to Iraq.  He is engaged to be married in December.

Nicholas, 21, also a Lance Corporal with the Marines, also is on his second tour in Iraq.  His last two birthdays have been celebrated in Iraq.

Fourth son, Alexander, 17, has plans to join ROTC and become a Marine.

Cindy and Rod Crane are grateful for the support they have received from their CPN neighbors.  You may remember the Crane boys’ pictures in King Soopers last year when the yellow ribbons were being distributed throughout the neighborhood. “Our neighbors were so incredible.  Everyone’s support is what gets us through,” says Cindy. Cindy would also like us to remember her brother, Brian Kilzer of North Dakota, a Master Sgt. with the Army National Guard stationed in Tikrit, Iraq.  He was deployed out of Ft. Carson in February.

Lance Corporal William Chesak is in Afghanistan with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit. He is from Centreville, Virginia, and is the nephew of Susan Brennan of the Knights Bridge subdivision   William turned 21 onboard ship and is expected home in September, after his ship patrols the Mediterranean during the Olympics as part of an anti-terrorism force.
