Entertainment Complex Approved for Castle Rock

The Town of Castle Rock recently approved a local developer’s plans to bring a massive entertainment complex to the town.

The three-story, non-smoking family center will be built on a three-acre parcel on North Castleton Court, across from the Colorado State Patrol office and the Rockyard American Grill Brewery restaurant in Castle Rock. The project is designed to have parking beneath the building and will employ 50 to 60 people.

The Oxford Castleton Entertainment Center will have an “upscale” attitude and will combine bowling with a neon light show and music. With its planned miniature golf course, laser tag arena, arcade games, restaurant/sports bar, and climbing wall, the fun center is not designed to be a competitive threat to the town’s public recreation center, which features more athletic activities.

Castle Rock has long been receptive to the idea of a family fun center.  The Town Council unanimously approved annexing the property at its August 24 meeting, thus ensuring that the town would receive 65 percent of annual sales tax revenue, or an anticipated $35,000 per year from the project, for 10 years.
