Metro District Notes
The construction east of Hidden Pointe is to replace an old lift station and dig a new well. Regarding the well located south of the Parkway, east of Monarch, there was some difficulty with the contractor, and the well has been abandoned. Judy Dahl apologizes on behalf of the Metro District to residents who have been dealing with the construction at that location.
The sidewalk on the south side of the Parkway was built using Metro Distric funds because safety of residents was a concern. It is actually the responsibility of the developers to build the walk, and the Metro District will work to get the sidewalk money refunded. Also, it is hoped that Douglas County will refund the money that built the required storm drain.
The District working to refinance some of our bonds. When complete, future tax rates may be reduced. In the meantime, the 2004 mill levy will stay the same as last year’s rate, which was a 30% reduction from the year before.
