I-25/Castle Pines Parkway Bridge Construction Delayed
Construction on the Castle Pines Parkway Bridge, exit 188 over I-25, was originally scheduled to begin in April. However, the project’s contractor may only begin work after a field office and field lab with working phones and power are set up on site.
“It is likely that the office and lab will be operational in early- to mid-May, and that is when construction will begin,” according to Jim Bemelen of the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Upon completion, the replacement interchange will provide a new bridge over I-25 with two lanes eastbound, two lanes westbound, and a center turn lane. A loop ramp will be constructed in the southeast quadrant providing a direct movement from eastbound Castle Pines to northbound I-25, and the northbound off ramp to Castle Pines will be relocated to allow the loop ramp construction.
An illustration of the new interchange is available on the CPN web site. Go to the home page (http://www.cpnhoa.org) and click on the construction icon on the upper right-hand side.
