Approval Granted to American Academy Charter School
The Douglas County Board of Education has approved American Academy’s charter for a new school in Castle Pines North. At a second hearing on November 3rd, the Board of Education voted unanimously to approve the school, contingent on a lease signing agreement and compliance with the Douglas County School District open enrollment policy.
The school is expected to open for the 2005-2006 school year in a temporary location in the Lone Tree area. Plans for building a new school in the Castle Pines North area are currently underway. The American Academy Charter School will utilize the Core Knowledge curriculum and is currently accepting intent to enroll applications.
