January and February are typically when many enrollment deadlines hit for the local schools in Douglas County. 

Residents in Douglas County are able to open enroll at any school of their choice within the District.  Should a family wish to send their child to a school other than the designated neighborhood school, an open enrollment application must be submitted with the Douglas County School District at 620 Wilcox in Castle Rock.  Open enrollment applications are accepted from December 1st until February 1st.   To obtain an application visit the DCSD website at www.dcsdk12.org, or call the district at 303-387-0100. 

Kindergarten Registration

Timber Trail Elementary (TTE) and Buffalo Ridge Elementary (BRE) are enrolling kindergarteners the week of January 24.  To register, bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate, immunization record and proof of residency.  To find out times for enrollment contact the school.  TTE can be reached at 303-387-5700.  BRE can be reached at 303-387-5575.

American Academy Charter School

American Academy Charter School is accepting applications for the 2006-2007 school year through midnight January 31, 2006.  Interested families should fill out an intent to enroll form with the school.  This form does not guarantee a spot, but puts the student(s) name in the lottery for open spot in the school.  To find an intent to enroll form visit their website at www.aacpcs.org, or contact the school at 720-873-7395.

DCS Montessori Charter School

The DCS Montessori Charter School is accepting applications to their school through February 15, 2006.  Open spots within the school are filled on a lottery and wait list system.  Any applications received after this date will be placed at the bottom of the wait list.  To find an application visit their website at www.dcsmontessori.org, or call the school at 303-387-5625.
