Hidden Pointe Becomes Full Voting Members of
CPN Master Association

For the first time, Hidden Pointe voted at the Castle Pines North Annual Master Association meeting held November 15th.

Early this fall, the final steps to solidify the relationship between Hidden Pointe and the CPN Master Association were finalized.

“A major milestone was accomplished as Hidden Pointe obtained the right to vote for Board members,” said Richard Schafer, Hidden Pointe’s HOA President.

Originally, the Hidden Pointe subdivision was never part of the CPN Master Association.  Both communities had different developers.  In 1999, a legal contract signed between Hidden Pointe and the CPN Master Association allowed for Hidden Pointe to become an associate member to the Master Association.

Associate status allowed Hidden Pointe residents equal access to all services provided by the Master Association.  The one right Hidden Pointe did not have as an associate member was the ability to vote for members of the Board of Directors at the annual meeting.

In 2003, the Hidden Pointe HOA Board of Directors filed a lawsuit in the Douglas County District Court.  The lawsuit claimed that the 1999 contracts developed between Hidden Pointe HOA and the CPN Master Association were invalid.

Subsequently, homeowners in Hidden Pointe expressed a desire to halt the lawsuit and instead, voiced their wish to become full voting members of the Master Association.  In response, homeowners elected a new Hidden Pointe HOA Board of Directors and began to work to resolve the issues with the Master Association.

In May, 2005, the lawsuit between Hidden Pointe and the CPN Master Association was dismissed.  Hidden Pointe and the Master Association then collaborated on a draft agreement to grant voting rights to Hidden Pointe.  The final documents were sent to both boards for review and were adopted by both parties on November 15, 2005.

“We are pleased that this bump in the road is behind us and that Hidden Pointe can now become equal participants in the community,” said Linda Nuzum President of the CPN Master Association.  "We are thrilled to offically welcome Hidden Pointe as part of CPN's family of HOAs."
