Storm Damages Trees throughout Community

Clean-Up Underway

The recent snow storm brought more than a foot of snow to some parts of Castle Pines North.  Numerous trees throughout the community have suffered damage and the clean-up has already begun.

Removal of damaged tree branches along Castle Pines Parkway, The Retreat Park, and the north and south open space areas are being coordinated by the Castle Pines North Metro District.  The District expects to have the clean up completed by October 22.

Many other open spaces throughout CPN are maintained by local HOAs.  Contact your HOA or management company for questions regarding specific land ownership questions and tree removal concerns.

The Castle Pines North Master Association does not own any property, but can assist homeowners with land ownership issues or questions. Contact the Master Association at 303-482-3078, or e-mail admin@cpnhoa.org. Remember, trees in individual yards are the responsibility of the homeowner.

How to Dispose of Broken Tree Limbs?

Douglas County Public Works has temporarily re-opened the slash and mulch program following the recent storm.  Residents and HOAs of unincorporated Douglas County, which includes all of Castle Pines North, can drop off tree limbs and other damaged landscaping free of charge.

The site will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, and Saturday, October 22, and is located at 1400 Caprice Drive in Castle Rock.  Mulch will also be available for pickup at this location.  For more details, visit www.douglas.co.us/.

Homeowners needing to dispose of limbs through their local garbage collection should follow these guidelines.
  • Branches should be four foot or less in length
  • Branches should not be larger than one foot diameter
  • Branches should be bundled in one foot diameter bunches.

Most importantly, homeowners should remember not to bundle a large number of heavy branches as trash collectors may refuse pickup.
