Have a Safe and Happy 4th of July!

As the CPN Community, and all Americans, prepare for July 4th, there is lots to do and some safety tips to keep in mind.

Hot Air Balloon Rides

On the morning on July 4th, from 8-10am, weather permitting, there will be a hot air balloon at the Buffalo Ridge Elementary School on Monarch. Balloon rides, up to 100 feet in the air, will be offered to children courtesy of Linda Knight.

Neighborhood Parades

Several neighborhoods in CPN are having parades and picnics. Enjoy the festivities and please be careful driving on the morning of July 4th . Give way to brightly decorated wagons and bikes.

Safety guidelines adopted from Rocky Mountain News / Post Hub Section and City of Lone Tree website.

Use only legal fireworks. Fireworks use is restricted by city and county.  The general guideline from the Rocky Mountain News / Post: fireworks that leave the ground, explode or break into pieces are generally not allowed.

Proper Adult supervision is required when using fireworks. Any type of fireworks, no matter how safe, can be dangerous to adults, children and property.

Use fireworks in a clear area at least 20 feet from any house, wood fences, weeds, brush, or any other flammable item.

Light fireworks in a large safe area of dirt, pavement, concrete, or gravel at least 10 feet square.

If someone is injured or a fire is started, call 911 immediately.
