Metro District Sends Letter to Village Homes

In June, the Castle Pines North Metro District met with members of the Committee of Concerned Citizens for Redirecting Proposed Commercial Development. The two groups met to examine the possibility of purchasing CC-20. Zoned for commercial development, CC-20 is currently owned by Village Homes and Pinark, LLC, and is located on the northwest corner of Castle Pines Parkway and Monarch Boulevard.

Following the work session, the Metro District board of directors requested that District Manager James McGrady send a letter to Village Homes President John Osborne to explore the feasibility of purchasing CC-20.

The Committee members have also expressed their interest in an additional meeting with the Metro District. “We think it’s appropriate to schedule a second meeting once we get a purchase price from Village Homes,” said Craig Johnson, CPN resident and committee member. “Support for purchasing CC-20 remains strong in the community.”

As of press time, no response had been received from Village Homes. In addition, no revised plans have been submitted to Douglas County by Village Homes and no public hearings have been scheduled to date.
