Local Douglas County Boy Scout Troop 637 with the help of Scott Sanderson’s automotive shop, Pitrow Perfomance and YoLo Trucking, from Louviers will be doing their part to help the victims of Katrina.
In conjunction with the radio station 103.5 The Fox many local businesses are raising money and sending food and water to the victims of the hurricane. YoLo Trucking is donating trucks and drivers to transport water to the region and Sanderson’s shop will provide maintenance for the trucks before they head-out on this relief trip.
The troop is asking for donations of bottled water cases. Over the weekend, individual scouts will distribute flyers asking residents to leave water on their door steps for pick-up Monday evening at 6 p.m. For residents who wish to donate, but don’t receive a flyer there will be a drop-off at the HOA2 pool gate, 7306 Oxford Drive, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday, September 3 through Monday September 5.
This is a unique opportunity for CPN residents to actually see their donations make a difference for those in need.
