Severe traffic back-ups on I-25 near Castle Pines Parkway on Monday, May 2 were not related to construction, according to Nabil Haddad of the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT).
“There was a big accident with five or six cars on Monday morning, at about 8:30 a.m. The accident was located near the northern side of the construction project at I-25 and Castle Pines Parkway. The accident was unrelated to any construction activities,” says Haddad.
The cleanup lasted for several hours, and back-ups reached as far south as Castle Rock, and possibly even affected traffic on US85.
Regarding the construction project on the Castle Pines Parkway Bridge, “the project is progressing very nicely, given the many challenges (especially traffic) at hand,” concludes Haddad.
