CPN's Public Safety Calls Monitored

In 2005, the Castle Pines North Master Association began monitoring public safety dispatch calls for the community.

Information is gathered monthly from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) and complied in nine categories which include: traffic, accidents, DUIs and road hazards; suspicious vehicles, incidents or person; residential and commerical alarms; rescued, lost or animal complaints; assaults, domestic family disturbances and harassment; 911 emergency, medical assistance and fire; crime, theft, fraud and criminal tampering; park checks; and miscellaneous.

Last year, more than 3,500 calls were made to the DCSO from CPN. The highest number of calls were related to 911 emergencies, medical assistance and fire. In addition, with the completion of the I-25 bridge project, traffic calls are down slightly from earlier months in 2005. Overall, crime, theft and fraud calls were lower in late 2005.

Community-wide e-mail blasts, mailings and web updates by the CPN Master Association have raised awareness of any criminal activity in the community. Castle Pines North continues to remain a safe community; however, residents must remain proactive and contact the DCSO if they see someone or something suspicious.
