More Delays for the Traffic Signal
at Castle Pines Parkway and Yorkshire Drive

The mast arms are up, the control boxes are in, but no lights are in operation at the corner of Castle Pines Parkway and Yorkshire Drive.  According to Douglas County Public Works Principal Traffic Engineer, Alex Larson, “best case scenario is for the light to be operational in two to three weeks.”

In the beginning of the project, county engineers worked with Intermountain Rural Electric Association (IREA) to determine the best source of the power for the intersection.  Now questions have surfaced as to whether the transformer may be overloaded.  “Maybe this could be a five to 10- day check for IREA,” said Larson “but if they have to replace the transformer it could take six to eight weeks.”

Douglas County Public Works cautions drivers to continue to be alert at the intersection while they work diligently to have the signal operational as soon as possible.
