Castle Pines North (CPN) voters will head to the polls three times this year - in May, in August and in November. In the first election, set for May 2, residents will vote in two important races that directly affect CPN.

CPN to Elect Directors for Metro District and South Metro Fire Rescue Boards

Three seats on the Castle Pines North Metro District Board of Directors are up for election. The new Board will face many challenges and help the District transition from exclusive reliance on groundwater to a diverse portfolio of renewable water resources. On May 2, please take five minutes to stop by the CPN Community Center to cast a vote. The Community Center is located at 7404 Yorkshire Drive, and polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. To obtain an absentee ballot, please contact Metro District Election Official Janet Burnham at 303-688-8550, ext. 12, or e-mail janet@cpnmd.org. All absentee ballots must be received by Tuesday, May 2.

In addition, CPN voters will also help elect three seats on the South Metro Fire Rescue Board of Directors. Registered voters will receive a ballot via U.S. Mail by April 17.

Other Important Elections Set for August, November

In late March, local political parties held precinct caucuses where delegates were selected to represent the precinct at the April county conventions. At the county conventions, representatives will be chosen for the May state conventions. Precinct caucuses, county conventions, and state conventions are all part of the multi-level process that lead to the August primaries.

In August, CPN voters will head to the polls again to choose the candidate who will represent their party in the November 7 election.

On November 7, voters across the state will cast ballots to elect the next Colorado Governor. In addition to this race, some other important local races that CPN voters will be casting their ballot for include: State Representative for District 45, County Commissioner for District 1, Douglas County Sheriff and the Douglas County School District bond.
