A Hippity Hoppity Good Time!
by Elean Gersack

Residents from throughout Castle Pines North (CPN) enjoyed the Master Association’s Easter Egg Hunt at Coyote Ridge Park on Saturday, April 8. Over 10,000 eggs and the Easter Bunny were on hand for this fun CPN tradition! Little ones, some with help from their parents, raced for eggs that were divided by age category.

Before and after the egg dash, children laughed and played at the park while the Easter Bunny took time to pose with the kids. Everyone enjoyed beverages and donuts.

According to Carla Kenny, CPN Master Association Social Event Planner, there were nearly twice as many children who attended the event than in previous years. “We had a lot of eggs, but with twice the attendance they went quickly. Last year we were giving donuts away after the event and this year the crowd ate all 50 dozen in less than an hour. It was a huge turnout!” said Kenny.

With spring snow arriving a day ahead of the scheduled hunt, many were nervous that this year’s event would be cancelled.

“I had to make a decision mid-week about moving the event indoors and at that time the forecast looked good. Then, on Friday, the snow just kept coming. Some of my neighbors and I tried to shovel some of the snow on Friday night, but it was so heavy we were not able to clear much of it,” said Kenny.

In typical Colorado fashion, the snow storm passed as quickly as it arrived and left just enough snow on the ground to make it memorable.

The Castle Pines North Master Association would like to offer special thanks to Solid Life Christian Church for stuffing all 10,000 eggs and for helping to setup on the morning of the hunt.

They would also like to thank the sponsors who helped make this an event to remember: Castle Rock Bank, ReMax Alliance – Derek Kliner, Prudential Preferred Real Estate – Kim Hoffman, Roseann Brock and Tom Brock, American Family Insurance, Edward Jones – Janet Moore, Castle Rock Chiropractic, Castle Pines Orthodontics, Little Italy Pizzeria, The Pet Stuff Place, Perry & Company – Sandy Colling, Castle Cones Ice Cream and Cakes, Castle Pines Veterinary Clinic, Village Square Business Center, ReMax Accord – Linda McClure, Castle Pines Family Dentistry, Keller-Williams Real Estate – Toni Fortson, Castle Pines Dental Care, Studio B Interiors, Inc., and City Wide Roofing.
