New Metro District Board Seated

by Carin Kirkegaard

The new Metro District Board was seated on May 22 and welcomed three new members: Jonette Brown Eyes, Ted Lohr and Bruce Thompson. Each new member is dedicated and focused on serving Castle Pines North (CPN) with a fiscally-responsible approach, while looking to secure future water supplies for the community.

Brown Eyes views the challenge of a future water supply as important in the future of CPN. “I would like to contribute to the development of a long term water resources plan that can be implemented over time with a fiscally conservative approach,” said Brown Eyes.

Lohr sees growth in CPN as a concern for the community. In addition, Lohr states, “We need to make sure that our finances are in order and that we can afford to do what needs to be done. We need to make sure that we have water in the future that is affordable to all homeowners.”

Thompson looks forward to working with the community and hearing residents’ questions and concerns. “With my expertise in water, wastewater and water distribution, I feel I can contribute in making proper decisions involving our future water management,” Thompson said.

Joining current board members Mark Shively and Cortney Brand, the three new board members will be instrumental in securing future renewable water supplies for CPN.  Additionally, these leaders will provide vision and direction for the community during the next two to four years, as the community deals with parks and open space planning, potential additional development, and many other issues that may arise.
