In these days of mass-manufacturing, it is refreshing to find beautifully-crafted handmade goods at affordable prices. Handmade Colorado is a new store in Castle Pines North (CPN) where shoppers can purchase the work of local artists and crafters.

The store is located close to Safeway in the Castle Pines Marketplace Shopping Center. Items for sale include unique photography, porcelain, pottery, sterling silver, beaded jewelry, glass, waxwork, quilting, and woodworking – all crafted locally. Goods range in price from five dollars to a few thousand dollars; so there is literally something to please everyone.

The store is owned and operated by the husband and wife team, Chris and Becky Ogilvie. Becky brings years of experience selling her own beaded jewelry at the former Coomer’s Craft Mall in Aurora to the new store in CPN. Becky, a Colorado native, also holds a master’s degree in Finance from the University of Colorado, so she is well qualified to help local artists be successful in their own businesses.

The store is currently accepting applications from artists who are interested in renting booth space. Pricing starts at $65 per month. The Ogilvies are insistent that the merchandise at their store is of the highest quality.

Unlike many craft fairs, the store offers a full refund if a customer is unhappy with a purchase. Custom orders are also possible. Early customers may receive a 15 percent-off coupon, depending on availability.
