The third annual Rockslide is set for Saturday, November 11, at Rock Canyon High School. This fun community event raises money to support participating local schools including: Buffalo Ridge Elementary, American Academy, Rocky Heights Middle School, DCS Montessori, Timber Trail Elementary, Redstone Elementary, Rock Canyon High School, and Wildcat Mountain Elementary.

New this year, Rockslide has teamed up with The Kiwanis Club of Castle Pines, a group of business leaders providing education and support for teen suicide prevention through the Second Wind Foundation. The Kiwanis Club will provide a pancake breakfast for all participants immediately following the race.

“We are so excited to team up with The Kiwanis Club of Castle Pines this year,” said Stacie Sneider, Executive Director for the Rockslide. “There is no other event quite like this one. It is such a fun way to bring the community together for our children.”

Register for the event online at www.dcrockslide.com by November 1. The cost is $12 per child and $22 per adult. As part of the registration fee, participants receive a T-shirt, pancake breakfast, and activities including bounce castles, rock climbing walls, face painting and music. Registrants are encouraged to stop by the Rockslide Expo on Friday night, November 10, to pick up T-shirts and race packets. During the Expo, Nick & Willy’s will offer pizza, Cold Stone Creamery will offer ice cream, and late registrants can sign-up for an additional $5.

On the morning of the race, participants can warm up beginning at 8:30 a.m. The 5K race will begin promptly at 9 a.m., followed by the one-mile race.

Last year, more than $38,000 was raised by 1,100 participants. This year, the Rockslide expects to attract more than 1,500 participants.
