Douglas County Open Enrollment

Parents wishing to enroll children in a Douglas County School District school, other than a designated neighborhood school, must complete an open enrollment form. As of December 1, open enrollment forms can be downloaded from the district website at www.dcsdk12.org and parents can view a list of the schools available for open enrollment for the 2007-2008 school year. Forms must be completed and returned to the desired open-enrollment school between December 1, 2006 and January 15, 2007. For more information, visit www.dcsdk12.org.

Kindergarten Registration

Mark the calendar and make sure to register kindies during January.

Buffalo Ridge Elementary (BRE)

BRE will enroll kindergarteners sometime in early January. For specific dates and times, please call the school at 303-387-5575. Please plan to bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate, immunization records and proof of residency.

Timber Trail Elementary (TTE)

TTE will enroll kindergarteners of existing families on January 16 and of new families on January 17 and 18. Please plan to bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate, immunization records and proof of residency. For specific details, call TTE at 303-387-5700.

American Academy Charter School

Intent to Enroll forms for the 2007-2008 school year will be accepted any time before midnight, January 31, 2007. Visit www.americanacademyk8.org to download a form or call 720-873-7395 for more information. The Intent to Enroll form places the student’s name in American Academy’s lottery, but does not guarantee a spot at the school.

DCS Montessori

Applications for three-year-old preschool through sixth grade for the 2007-2008 school year will be accepted now through February 15, 2007. DCS Montessori utilizes a waitlist and lottery to fill open spots within the school.
