News from Timber Trail Elementary School
Fourth grader, Anna A., and fifth grader, Evan P., (pictured above) are two of the Timber Team members and are excited to have the opportunity to help such a great cause. “There are lots of people who don’t have the money to buy things so I think our collection will help,” said Evan.

Congratulations Rockslide Participants
Congratulations to all TTE Rockslide participants! The Timber Trail Educational Alliance (TTEA) will use the funds raised for the school’s science and reading programs as well as technology improvements. The TTEA is hoping to raise $44,000 during this school year to be used for these great programs. Prior to the Rockslide the TTEA had raised 28 percent of that goal.

Save the Dates

The TTE versus BRE Teacher Kickball game is scheduled for Wednesday, January, 10, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. at Rock Canyon High School. The TTE Silent Auction, the school’s largest fundraiser, will be held on Friday, May 4, 2007.

Kindergarten Registration for 2007-2008

TTE will enroll kindergarteners of existing families on January 16 and of new families on January 17 and 18. Please plan to bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of residency. For specific details, please call TTE at 303-387-5700.
Timber Team Partners with Douglas/Elbert

Task Force

Timber Team is the TTE version of a student council. Made up of twenty four students from the fourth and fifth grade classes, these kids are in charge setting a high standard for the school and community, including leading fundraising efforts. Right now, Timber Team is in the process of pitting class against class to collect change for the Douglas/Elbert Task Force.

The students are hoping to raise more than $1000 for the task force. “It feels good when you help people,” said Anna.

Timber Team is lead by a group of four staff members: Jill Alexander – third grade teacher, Heather Brandt – librarian, Christine Cooke – speech & language pathologist and Karen Kolibaba – fourth grade teacher. Good luck, Timber Team.
