Winter of 2006-2007 - How Much Snow Did CPN Receive?
Galen Crowder, HOA1 resident and CoCoRaHS volunteer, tracks moisture in Castle Pines North each day at 7 a.m. at his home on Huntley Court. CoCoRaHS are volunteers that participate in the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network to measure and map precipitation. So just how much snow did CPN receive during what many would call one of the worst winters in Colorado history? Listed below are his reported snowfall totals for the community:
According to Crowder’s measurements, the total amount of snowfall received in CPN from October 18, 2006 to February 25, 2007 was 113.70 inches. This calculated into only 9.92 inches of moisture. Moisture statistics for CPN are posted at www.cpnhoa.org. More information about CoCoRaHS can be found at www.cocorahs.net. |
