Uniform Sale Set for June 8-9 American Academy will host a uniform sale on Friday, June 8, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, June 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Word of Life Church located next to the school. Gently used Dennis uniforms will be available at half of the regular retail price. All proceeds benefit the school. Volunteers who sign-up to work five hours can shop early. Spring Gala Raises Thousands The American Academy Spring Gala, “A Night on Treasure Island”, brought in more than 200 attendees to the Denver Marriott South at Park Meadows on April 21. Live auctions, live music, dinner and dancing rounded out the evening. Vivian Winston and Mary Schroeder led the event with help from many volunteers. After the evening ended and everything was tallied, more than $42,000 was raised for the school. “Music Man Jr.” Hits the Stage On May 3 and 4, “Music Man Jr.” hit the stage at the Parker Town Center. This youth version of the show by Meredith Wilson features a traveling salesman and conartist who transform a small town with music and charisma. Music Teacher, Mr. Middlebrooks led the cast to rave reviews.
The Colorado League of Charter Schools (CLCS) is working with lawmakers to protect charter school benefits.
