Last December, the Castle Pines North (CPN) Master Association Safety Committee, the CPN Metro District, and Douglas County Public Works cooperatively took on two pedestrian crosswalk projects in the Castle Pines North community. Two CPN residents were instrumental in bringing these safety concerns to the attention of the Master Association.

The first crosswalk project is located in the median on Hidden Pointe Boulevard. Pedestrians using trails behind the Greenbriar neighborhood faced a rocky median when trying to cross the street to access Coyote Ridge Park.

The second pedestrian crosswalk project is located in Daniel’s Gate. Pedestrians trying to cross Monarch Boulevard needed a safer route. The CPN Metro District has completed all the concrete work for the crosswalk, in addition to adding a sidewalk extending along the east side of Monarch Boulevard from Catarata Way to Serena Avenue.

Flashing crosswalk signs that can be activated by pedestrians were installed by Douglas County at the Daniel’s Gate locations. Please use caution when traveling along Monarch Boulevard. State laws require all vehicles to stop for pedestrians in crosswalks.
