East-West Regional Trail Extension
Dedication Ceremony Set for June 23

by Terri Wiebold

Residents near Coyote Ridge Park watching Douglas County’s construction of the extension of the East-West Regional Trail will be happy to know that the dust is settling and the trail is near completion.

The trail is designed to be a six-foot wide, soft surface trail extending north from Coyote Ridge Park to Rocky Heights Middle School (RHMS) in Highlands Ranch, with long-term plans to include extending the trail up to The Bluffs Regional Park and all the way down to Parker, connecting with the Cherry Creek Regional Trail.

Douglas County Parks and Trails have rescheduled the official dedication of the trail from its original date of June 2 to Saturday, June 23 at 10:30 a.m. at RHMS. All families and residents are welcome to attend, and a complimentary catered barbeque lunch will be served. Please RSVP to Carol Thomas at 303-660-7495 by June 15 for lunch, as reservations are required.

For questions regarding the trail extension or for additional information about the dedication, please contact Douglas County Parks and Trails at 303-660-7495.
