CC-20 Development Progressing
by Lisa Crockett

Representatives from Village Homes are working hard to get the building process underway on the site known as “CC-20” at the corner of Castle Pines Parkway and Monarch Boulevard. The site has been undergoing grading and infrastructure improvements since spring and Village Homes is eager to begin the first phase of the project, which will include 27 patio homes and 20 town homes.

“Once we get the approvals on the residential plans, we’ll be ready to start digging foundations,” said Margaret Barden, Public Processing Manager for Village Homes.

Though the public hearing process is over for the project, Village is still required to meet with the Board of County Commissioners to discuss the project.

“When building begins, the trail running between the existing homes and the new ones will also be constructed,” said Joe Fowler, a member of the County’s planning staff.

The trail will link to the existing trail at Timber Trail Elementary. The school trail has fallen into disrepair, but the school district has committed to improve it for use when the new trail begins construction.

“No one used that trail because it didn’t lead anywhere,” said Fowler. “With the new trail constructed, the school trail will have a link to the community.”

Businesses on the commercial portion of the site, other than a proposed library, are still unknown. Businesses that have expressed interest in the location include a child care center, hair salon, nail salon, bank and dry cleaner.
